If you live in Boston you know we have been hit hard with the cold, snow, and ice. The weather somehow manages to be more menacing and cruel after that short little glimpse of spring we saw a few weeks back. We go from 70 to 7 real quick! Real f' quick as the rap song goes.
On days like today my body craves something warm. Iced coffee is a staple here and don't get me wrong, I question every time I go into a Dunkin' whether or not it is worth committing to grip that iced coffee all the way back to my car. But sometimes nothing warms the soul like a nice hot drink. I recently had an amazing cappuccino at Max Brenner Boston. I had been running around all morning from spin class to barre and my brief little lunch date was my savior.
It was my first time at Max Brenner and I felt like a kid in a candy store. I am not a dessert person but I all of a sudden wanted everything sweet. The cappuccino was my treat. I loved how it was served in a kangaroo cup- it's a cup that allows hot melting chocolate to go right into your little cup of caffeine joy.
My favorite part was that the mug read: DRINK YOUR COFFEE IN A DECENT WAY (DON'T FORGET YOU ARE AN ADULT) THEN LICK THE CHOCOLATE LEFTOVERS TO KEEP THE CHILD IN YOU FOREVER
and you bet it - I licked the remnants of chocolate like a child. completely shameless. down to the crack of the kangaroo cup!
So lesson for today: it may be freezing and miserable outside, but you can still go and treat your self to something warm. Something that brings out the kid in you and makes you smile. Mind the moment. Sip. Savor. Get in your caffeine fix. and most importantly stay warm.
