Sorcery in Salem, MA

October 16, 2016

Hello people of the web!

In honor of Halloween season, I figured I'd share with you some photos from my first excursion to Salem, MA. About a 45min drive from Boston, Salem is the hub of all things Halloween: Cats, witches, ghosts, fortunetellers, and other random unique finds. So many cute little unique shops and venders. Perfect spot for a little day trip and a great excuse to dress up. There is nothing wrong with celebrating halloween all month long! I typically have 3-5 different costumes I keep going back and forth on! Mostly different variations of cat ears... but I won't go into the details! Whether you were a costume or a cute outfit, Salem is a great place to get into fall festivities.  If you know me, you'll know I love mostly blacks, greys, and anything dark.

All black and grey, all day!

Basically Salem is my spot.  I am always eager to whip out my scull gear- in this case, my signature scull scarf (an old and much loved H&M find). Now lets take a stroll with me through historic Salem, Massachusetts

Outfit details:

Magic stones at the OMEN giftshop  -Psychic Parlor and Witchcraft Emporium

I have to share that after two glasses of wine at the Village Tavern, I had a very interesting mediumship reading at OMEN  to get me into the holiday spirit! My 30 minute, $65 dollar reading with Sharlimar was great! Originally from Hawaii, Sharlimar explained that she has been practicing mediumship since she was a little girl. She utilized an old school stone pendulum to help me answer yes or no questions with "the spirit" I chose to summon. It was definitely creepy and something very surreal. I am not sure how the pendulum managed to answer rhetorical yes or no questions and move so clearly and correctly. I was not moving it, nor was Shar.

For the skeptics out there- I know this all may sound crazy. I didn't believe in any of this stuff for the longest time until I had my first medium reading with Sirry Berndsen, a local Boston Medium. She truly is the real deal. If you are at all interested and live in the Boston area, I highly recommend you check her out:

The reading at OMEN I feel was still 100% authentic, however, if it is your first time and you are skeptical, I wouldn't recommend it. I think it is best to first see someone in a much more calm environment- minus all the halloween buzz.  By that, I mean in a quiet 1:1 office setting like Sirry's. The OMEN shop was a little hectic and crowded. Even though they have the reading areas marked off with curtains, people from outside can still peer into the windows, so it is not entirely a comfortable situation for someone who is new and hesitant. For the experienced medium goer- I say go for it! It is better than a fake haunted house in my opinion. It'll connect you to your loved one and may even give you a little spook. I personally found the pendulum rather fascinating..... definitely will get you in the spirit of the season!

No trip is complete without some CATS:

these lovely original prints were from artist Marc. I found them to be cute and pretty amusing. Any pet lover- especially cat lover will understand. To check out more of his cool work, take a peek at his website

Happy Haunting my friends!
